The long awaited release of Serpic Fist's Third album, Bridge Burning has finally hit stores this spring. The band has taken their time in putting together a metal melting political savaging album that not only resets the sound of a heavy genre but also illustrates the bands frustrated and aggressive angst towards the world at large. If Mike Tyson was a metal band then surely he would be Serpic Fist, Bridge Burning does just that an tears down pre established relations and friendships that this band may have had within the entertainment community and the general public at large. Though not crude, nor in poor taste the music carries a dialogue that only something from classical epic could emphasise. The lyrics written by singer Seth Blawine and lead guitarist Edan Lew are more or less a manifesto of their political and sociological beliefs and ideals, perhaps lost on the average fan it will no doubt
only add a venom to the fangs that their unique style of music carries.
If you are a fan to the Epic Slate school of Metal then you are a fan of Serpic Fist, they are perhaps the flag bearers of this distinct style of Metal. If you are already a fan of the Fist, then you will no doubt become an obsessive follower after you hear this new album.

An short Interview with Edan Lew by Markian Magazine

Markian Magazine - "Edan thank you for your time to help answer some questions. I am sure that you and the Fist are no doubt busy with promoting the new album not to mention the upcoming tour. First, I would love to say that this new album is not only intense but it is also incredibly fresh sounding, what was the inspiring factors behind it all."
Edan Lew- "Thank you. It is appreciated. Bridge Burning is something that has been fermenting within the band for some time. We have been rehashing the same sounds and agenda since our debut and we thought it would be time to try and really demonstrate just how much we feel and think about the world around us."
Markian Magazine- "This album is extremely political and has some what aggressive commentary in it. Are these the thoughts of the entire band or just a few ?"
Edan Lew- "Well we all have our disagreements and own beliefs and ideas, that is what makes us function. It is the distinction of individuals and the sounds and contrasts that we make when we are united under one banner, for the most part we all share these ideas and while I am some what the speaker phone for them I am not alone in most of the opinions."
Markian Magazine- "Michael Moore called you the spoilt child rockers of capitalism without musical talent, what do you have to say about that ?"
Edan Lew- "Thanks ? I suppose its an insult to him, to me its some what a complicated compliment. I could get into name calling and play the celebrity he said she said game. But I will be the bigger man and refrain from that. And by bigger I do not mean fatter. If Moore wants to debate politics I can do that, if he wants me to toe the line and be his Rage against the machine then I am afraid I can not do this."
Markian Magazine- "As Bridge Burning has been a success very early on, can we expect another album some time soon?"
Edan Lew- "I think we can do that. For the time being we want to focus solely on this one, but I think we have some ideas for the next one. "
Markian Magazine- " In three songs now you have made references to Duke Nukem. Is their any significance to this ?"
Edan Lew- "Not really, I just liked the game as a kid. "

Markian Magazine- " One last question, the lyrics 'licked the cherry from a forked shaft only to taste your insides' who wrote that ? I ask because I found it interesting in the context in which it was used."
Edan Lew- "Seth wrote that song, 'Slaves Orgy'. I think it is growing on me."
Markian Magazine- "Thank you Edan and once again well done on another great album."
Edan Lew- "Thank you."
